I first discovered my love of concise, compelling, highly communicative writing in my work as a technical writer. Except for a three-year break during which I served as a Jewish Agency shlicha in my hometown of Montreal, I had a very busy and successful technical writing career from 1981 to 2001.
By the late 1990’s, however, my technical writing work was already moving me towards management. My last job as a technical writer involved recruiting, training, and managing an international team of 18 technical writers in Israel and 40 in India -- all working on web-based, interactive, hands-on user tutorials for higher-end consumer electronic products.
From 2001 through 2005, I held senior management positions (VP Professional Services and VP Business Development) during which I gained tremendous experience and knowledge of the high-tech business ecosystem
From 2005 through 2011, I was CEO for the business development consultancy of The Trendlines Group, during which time I had the privilege of working with the management teams of dozens of Israeli companies helping them focus and articulate their business strategy and messaging.
In 2011, I decided to take on, as CEO, one of the Trendlines portfolio companies-NovoSpeech. This was an exciting opportunity to not only develop but also to implement a business strategy, as well as experience personally the agony and the ecstasy of raising funds. I was directly responsible for all the business and marketing collateral for presenting NovoSpeech to partners, customers, and investors.
Because NovoSpeech was not a full-time position, since 2011 I have also been active as a freelance business and marketing writer, delivering business plans, investment overviews, company profiles, website content, and other marcom collateral.
